MEDAN — The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (FEB UMSU), in strategic collaboration with Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), hosted a landmark international program designed to foster academic synergy, cross-border student leadership, and cultural integration. Taking place at FEB UMSU from 09:00 AM to 12:00 PM WIB, the initiative featured a dedicated Sharing Session on Student Organization Management alongside a joint Public Lecture, bringing together student leaders, academics, and administrative representatives from both prestigious institutions.
The program presented an esteemed lineup of speakers, including distinguished UUM faculty members alongside FEB UMSU leadership, notably the Vice Dean of FEB UMSU and the Head of the Management Department. Structured to blend rigorous academic discourse with interactive dialogue, the agenda opened with official progress reports and institutional welcoming remarks before transitioning into an engaging guest lecture and a lively Q&A forum centered on organizational leadership and modern management practices.
Complementing the academic dialogue, the event integrated vibrant cultural diplomacy to deepen mutual understanding among ASEAN youth through dynamic artistic showcases. Highlights of the cultural exchange included an energetic flashmob performance by the visiting UUM delegation and a collaborative musical performance featuring student talents from both universities, showcasing the shared heritage and creative synergy of both communities.
Through its dual focus on inclusive learning and cross-border cooperation, this initiative directly aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically supporting SDG 4 (Quality Education) by delivering international leadership training and academic enrichment, as well as SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by strengthening long-term inter-institutional collaboration between Indonesia and Malaysia.
